I'm originally from southern New York state and New York City – I came to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1985 with my job … it was the best thing I ever did! (The second best was to move to Sebring, the third best, taking art lessons!.)

I always liked to draw, but never took any formal art classes. It wasn't until 2008 year that Anne Watson took me under her wing, and I learned the basics. I'm now enjoying my retirement as a local artist, in the excellent company of the other studio artists, and all of the Highlands Art League members.

The Dogwood Art Studio is named in honor of my two daschunds, Bogie, who I lost in 2006, and Dash, my best little dog in the world, and the wood pencils I use to draw and color my pictures … and of course, the beautiful southern dogwood tree!

All of my work is done with colored pencil; most are Prismacolor and Faber-Castel , but sometimes I use watercolor pencils to try something different. It's very relaxing when I concentrate on mixing my colors, or working on a background, and I enjoy working here at the studio or on the back porch (in winter) in my home.

I hope you enjoy my work almost as much as I do creating it!
