2nd Friday - Gallery Walk
Join us from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the second Friday each month for the Gallery Walk at the Yellow House Gallery and Gift Shop!
Visit our latest exhibit at Highlands MOTA, stroll through the gallery, gift shop and artists' studios at the Yellow House, discover and sign up for classes at the Art Center, all while experiencing one of nature's own spectacular works of art, sunset over Lake Jackson.
The July Gallery Walk at the Yellow House Gallery and Gift Shop will be held July 8th, 2011 from 5-8 pm. We are fortunate to feature Maria Lorant as our Artist of the Month. Ms. Lorant's specialty is parchment craft, a very old art that uses perforation, embossing, and a variety of cutting techniques along with color and painted highlights to produce a three dimensional look of fine lace and embroidery. Raffle tickets will be sold ($1 each or 6 tickets for $5) for a piece by Ms. Lorant. There will be live music, and light refreshments and wine will be served. Admission is free to the public. Also for July, the theme of "Dog Days" has been chosen. Members are encouraged to display canine-related works, and the public is invited to bring their dogs along for activities at the Yellow House as well as on the Circle. Our Five Objects Challenge continues to be displayed through June. Our member artists all created their own versions of an artwork from a set of five objects on display in the gallery. HAL is extending the challenge to anyone who would like to participate in an open exhibition in October. Those interested should contact challenge@highlandsartleague.org.
