As a lifelong painter, Anne Watson eagerly looks forward to guiding students toward achieving their goals in their choice of media. Her studio-style sessions afford each student the chance to work at their own pace in the company of others, honing their skills and discovering their own unique gifts and expressions.

Unlike group-project oriented classes, Anne Watson’s classes run on an ongoing basis, and are designed for the individual, from beginner to advanced, to work in their desired medium, or multiple media,…..to develop a knowledge of the materials,…..and to eventually be able to draw or paint anything the student wishes….because they have learned a new way to look at everything……and to see with the new eyes of the artist. Each student develops their own style, in their own time, as Anne guides them toward their own goals.

Anne’s personal favorite, OIL PAINTING is the most forgiving of painting media, and also the most helpful to the beginner or the experienced painter. The richness, opacity, and durability of the paint afford all who work with it a pleasant and refreshing experience. 

Favored by many for its quicker drying time, ACRYLIC PAINTS can be used similarly to watercolors, or more like oils……or any combination in between! The broad range of styles available in acrylics allows the painter a greatly versatile creative adventure.

While the use of the materials of other media are not Anne’s chosen areas of work, the same principals of composition, drawing, color, etc. apply, and those who wish to develop in these arenas are welcome also in Anne’s classes to hone those skills.

Classes are scheduled by the calendar quarter; enrollment is open, so that students may begin at any time. Payment is always in advance for any part of the quarter remaining when you begin. Pre-scheduled times that you will not be able to attend (such as pre-planned vacations, etc.) are prorated at the time of prepayment. The cost for members calculates to $15/class; the cost for non-members calculates to $18/ class.

Anne Watson has worked as an artist in industry in recent years, and is very excited about having the opportunity to share what she has gained from that perspective and from her (now many) years of painting experience.
